Sobriety Brings A Change is a non-profit community based outpatient addiction treatment agency that has been successfully providing services in the Sacramento community since 1974. SBAC's program goal is to create a drug, alcohol and crime free society by redirecting troubled adolescents and adults onto pathways to abstinence and motivation for success. It is our mission to build on the strengths within the individual and then empower them to achieve self actualization while building character and integrity. Armed with the tools for a productive survival in today's society, these individuals will be able to build brighter futures for generations to come.
For many the idea of recovery from any addiction probably seems like an elusive goal. But with the right attitude and proper treatment, drug addiction recovery can be a very real and tangible possibility.
We are constantly working with all of our clients to prevent violence, alcohol and drug use. It is necessary to treat the whole person, not just the addiction. The same is true for prevention. If we are to prevent the youth and adults from engaging in the use of violence, alcohol and other drugs, we need to treat the whole person.
We believe that "CHANGING PATTERNS, SAVES LIVES", therefore it is your life...

How does one start on the road to addiction recovery? First, you must acknowledge that you have a problem and come to terms with the fact that you must change your behaviors and habits in order to live your life to the fullest. Next, it is imperative that you finds a proper treatment program that will address your recovery needs. Thirdly, active participation in the treatment program is essential. No treatment program can help if you are not fully committed to the process of recovery. Finally, you must continue to practice the new behaviors and strategies learned during treatment program. Often this may mean a lifelong commitment and participation in a support group-type setting.
